To meet the increasing need of medical services in the community, Sik Sik Yuen opened the general out-patient clinic in 1980. The clinic was expanded and re-located to the new Social Services Complex in 1999.
Patients with financial difficulties (i.e. CSSA or Disability Allowance recipients) can apply for subsidy on consultation fee from the Wong Wan Tin Benevolence Fund (Medical Purposes) or subsidy on medical laboratory test charges from the Free Diagnostic Service Fund.
Furthermore, the medical practitioners in our clinic have joined the Health Care Voucher Scheme and Vaccination Schemes. We were one of the 9 NGOs selected as service providers of the Elderly Health Assessment Pilot Programme, a 2-year programme subsidized by the government in 2013.
The General Clinic also expanded its services to ear, nose and throat services, and Pain Medicine. Apart from out-patient service, the clinic takes up an active role in promoting health consciousness among the general public by organising exhibitions, seminars, free medical check up and publishing of pamphlets on health knowledge.
Besides, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Sik Sik Yuen, the interior renovation has been finished on the clinic located on the ground floor of Sik Sik Yuen Social Services Complex, so as to provide the services to the public.
