New Year's Eve every year is the peak period for people to make a return offering to the Gods and pray for protection from Taisui. When worshippers visit the Taisui Yuenchen Hall, they will receive three sticks of incense that they can use to pay their respects to the Great Dipper, the Taisui of the year and the Taisui of the worshipper. They also gain a thanksgiving blessing bag that symbolizes good fortune during New Year's Eve.
