Established in 1982, Ho Yan Kindergarten was the first non-profit-making (NPM) kindergarten sponsored by Sik Sik Yuen. The school is well-equipped, with a spacious and clean environment, and constantly upgrades its facilities and provides a good learning environment. It has a stable team of high-quality teachers that includes professional Mandarin and foreign English teachers. From time to time, the teachers also participate in professional support programs jointly operated by the Education Bureau and higher education institutions to enhance teachers’ professional capacity.

Faithful to Sik Sik Yuen's student-oriented school policy, the school values holistic development of young children and creates a rich, enjoyable, and meaningful learning environment for them. The school promotes learning through playing, adopts play-based courses, and designs comprehensive, open, inspiring, and interesting play-based courses based on children’s interests and abilities. A diversified teaching model is applied with play-based teaching strategies to empower children to think, choose, express, and explore in game learning, so as to stimulate their interest in learning, develop their ability to learn actively, foster in them an attitude of active learning, and allow them to experience the fun of cooperating and sharing with others.

The school also uses outdoor learning to expand children’s horizons, giving them opportunities to experience, explore, inquire, and study for themselves. In doing so, it stimulates them to develop the spirit of active exploration, enhances their communication, interaction, collaboration, thinking, and problem-solving abilities, as well as cultivates a positive learning attitude, and establishes positive values.
