Sik Sik Yuen Wong Tai Sin Temple was established in 1921. The Taoist temple dedicates to Master
Chisong Wong Tai Sin and
the name of its altar is “Puyi Altar”. We take the Immortal Master’s imperative “to Act Benevolently
and to Teach
Benevolence” as our precious admonishment, and the following ten principles as lessons for disciples
of the faith,
“Filial piety, fraternity, fidelity, benevolence, righteousness, frugality, morality, ritual
propriety, restraint and
trustworthiness”. It also accentuates to maintain an attitude of respect for the Three Teachings -
Confucianism,
Buddhism and Taoism, through which can enlighten people by preaching and propagating the religions.
Sik Sik Yuen has been founded and deeply rooted in the communities of Hong Kong for 100 years. Under
the management of
Sik Sik Yuen, Wong Tai Sin Temple, which is located in Chuk Yuen Village under Lion Rock of the
Kowloon Peninsula, has
been developing from a Taoist locus in the early phase to an internationally renowned Taoist temple
nowadays. By
endeavoring to undertake good deeds wherever possible, Sik Sik Yuen is also a well-known religious
charitable
organization which continues the great work of the Immortal Master to “answer every request for
help” by providing
Religious, Medical, Education and Social services to the general public. In 2014, Wong Tai Sin
Belief and Customs in
Hong Kong was being inscribed onto the national list of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
